  • Pricing is calculated by number of photos x digital image quality you selected.

    Additional Fees: Photos that need to be removed from sleeves/album booklets will cost an additional $0.05 per photo.

    Optional: Scan the backs of photos with writing on them for a one time $20 fee per order

    We offer bulk pricing discounts for qualifying orders and are happy to provide a free estimate.

    Minimum price is $40 for a single order

  • DPI (dots per inch) is a measure of the resolution of a digital scan. The higher the dot density, the higher the resolution of the scan and size of the digital file.

    Less than 200 DPI - Low resolution, we do not have any low resolution offerings

    300 DPI - Medium resolution, perfect for simple archiving, printing or sharing on social media

    600/1200 DPI - High resolution, allows you to enlarge/crop photos and retain more detail. Highly recommended for smaller photos

    The industry standard for quality photographs and images is typically 300 DPI. A good rule to follow is when in doubt, select a higher dpi for your material. You can always go down in size, but you can't go up without losing quality.

    Most customers select our Pro Package (600 dpi) to archive their photos, but you can always select multiple scan qualities for different groups of photos.

  • We can quickly and safely scan most photos our customers share with us including prints, polaroids, panoramic photos, documents, etc.

    A few specifications require additional care and attention to detail. Please note any of the following details to your Planet Scan-IT representative for proper preparation for your photos:

    Non-standard backing (Paper/plastic/metal/glass)

    Abnormal shape (photos not square/rectangle that are below our sizing limits -- see below)

    Photo Size Limits:

    Maximum: 8.5 × 36 inches (215.9 × 914.4 mm)

  • We can meet you at your location of choice (home, business, etc.) or a public destination (grocery store parking lot, coffee shop, etc.). We currently only conduct pick ups in San Diego County.

  • We will return your photos to you upon successful digitization. Due to privacy purposes, we will not dispose of them on your behalf.

  • We currently accept Zelle, Venmo, PayPal, Credit Card, Check and Cash.

    Once we have completed our service, we will provide an invoice to your email and direct you to the Planet Scan-IT accounts by payment method.
